‘From the Field to the Table’ project as a sustainable farming practice
İGSAŞ with its ‘From the Field to the Table’ project will be included as a best practice in the Sustainable Agricultural Policy Guide, which will be enriched by the Business World and Sustainable Development Association (SKD Turkey) and reissued. İGSAŞ will be highlighted with its ‘From the Field to the Table’ and ‘MinneTARIM for my soil’ projects and special fertilizers. İGSAŞ will also contribute to the guide as a supporter. SKD Turkey aims at raising awareness about sustainable farming among companies operating in the agriculture focused industries as well as providing guidance for companies that wish to integrate sustainability practices into their operations.

Transforming trees into art
The life of a tree ends when it’s felled but starts again with the art of woodcarving. The works of this art form, which involves cutting and carving woods in desired shapes, can easily be exhibited in museums. Because
it requires exquisite craftsmanship, the wood is transformed
into a visual feast in the hands of skilled people while its individual nature also fulfills the spirit of those who love to
work independently. This art form, which is long-lasting due to its durability, is also quite popular as a hobby nowadays. Birol Konuksever (Melamine Production Group Leader/Forest Industry Engineer) who works at Yıldız Entegre Kartepe Plant is very much interested in this art. Birol Konuksever, who likens working with wooden materials to a kind of meditation, explains, “I can say that it provides spiritual relaxation. At the end of each day
I work with wood, I feel more energized. Seeing my woodwork completed and getting a sense of accomplishment makes me feel like I can overcome any problem I encounter and that there is nothing that I cannot learn from and achieve.”
Yıldızlar Yatırım Holding, never compromising the excitement of creating new ideas with its new employees as well as veterans who have been working selflessly for years, is one big family... One of the members of this family is Ayşin Batum Donat, Foreign Trade Manager, who started working at İGSAŞ in 1993. She explains that she has continued to serve after the company joined Yıldızlar Yatırım Holding, “It is not a utopic idea for us to reach for the stars under the roof of Yıldızlar Yatırım Holding. From 2004 when our paths crossed to the point we reached today, steps have always been taken with commitment, ambition, trust, patience, innovation and determination.”
Selahattin Uysal, who served as Mechanical Maintenance Foreman at Yıldız Entegre’s Başiskele Glue Plant, expresses the happiness of being a member of this family for 26 years, “As one of the first employees to participate in the continuous growth and development journey that Yıldız Entegre has embarked on, I found the opportunity to work with each of my employers. For this reason and also as a character trait, I have always felt a sense of belonging in my place of employment.” Selahattin Uysal adds that seeing the respect of his coworkers at Yıldız Entegre, where he spent almost half of his life, makes him happy.
